This mid-century architectural gem was featured in the 2019 & 2022 Modernism Week tours. Built in 1948, the house has been lovingly updated and is the perfect luxury retreat. With the original breezeway lanai and signature walls of glass, this is classic indoor/outdoor Palm Springs living.
The neighborhood is quiet and walkable, steps away from the Tahquitz Creek Trail. It's less than a mile to the hip Ace Hotel and a 20-minute walk to downtown.
The property includes a luxe private backyard pool and spa area with lots of shade -- great during hot summer days -- and lush, tropical landscaping, including a tiki bar and ‘cocktail grove’ with mature grapefruit, orange and lemon trees. Views of the San Jacinto mountain range and swaying palm trees abound.
There are five bedrooms and four bathrooms split between the main house and two separate detached master suites (the ‘Blue Room’ and ‘Casita’). The detached suites are a unique feature and offer additional privacy for guests.
The Blue Room has a king bed, en suite bathroom, walk-in closet, and kitchenette with mini fridge.
The large, newly remodeled Casita has a king bed, classic Malm-style freestanding gas fireplace, living room space with new "63 flat screen TV, Xbox, original bathroom/shower and cosy patio seating area.
Polished tile floors flow throughout the main house which boasts two newly remodeled bathrooms and a carefully-appointed gourmet kitchen with a large wine fridge, and everything you need to cook fantastic feasts (or just order in). Also, just added a full-size fridge in the garage for extra cold food storage.
There is super fast high-speed WIFI throughout the property, three new Samsung smart TVs with house accounts for Netflix and Hulu, and an Xbox. There is also a record player and vinyl collection.
Outside features an elegant pool and spa, tiki bar, large outdoor sofa, chaise lounges, two large moveable outdoor umbrellas, an outdoor drinks cooler on wheels, along with a covered pergola for outdoor dining, and a new Weber Genesis gas grill. At night, gather under the fairy lights and around the fire pit for a bit of warmth and stargazing.
Designed in 1948 by legendary architect, Paul Trousdale, the house has been lovingly updated and is the perfect luxury getaway retreat. It retains Trousdale’s stunning open breezeway lanai and signature walls of glass.
