Welcome to Cottage on Bison Pond located 3 1/2 miles from the picturesque town of Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. The cottage, set amongst beautiful confers and deciduous trees & overlooking Bison Pond, a natural habitat for birds, herons, deer (even foxes, raccoons & eagles have been sited occasionally), has been completely remodeled and accessorized with every amenity we could think of, described below & in our amenity list, to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The location of our cottage is perfect for getting to and from town as well as driving to some of the most gorgeous destinations on the south side of the island. We are located only approximately 8 minutes to and from the heart of Friday Harbor. so really close to get to shopping and restaurants, and only 3 miles south to gorgeous walking beaches and trails along "South Beach" , "American Camp" and Mt. Finlaysen, some of the most explored destinations on the island. There is also a very scenic walking trail leading to "American Camp" directly from our property for those of you who love to commune with nature by foot. And for you golf addicts, the deck on the cottage looks directly onto San Juan Valley Golf Course which may cause you to be lured to play a round of golf during your vacation or at least want to take a leisurely walk around the links which many of our residents routinely do. And alternatively, for those who want to just hunker down and relax, you can simply nestle into our cottage deck or on the garden furniture facing our Pond and do absolutely nothing while experiencing the quiet and tranquility of our property.
The cottage downstairs bedroom has a queen bed, clothes closet, storage space for luggage and good reading lamps on each side of the bed. It has an attached bathroom with luxurious absorbent towels and complimentary soaps and shampoos. The upstairs living room and utility kitchen has wonderful natural light coming through lots of windows and French doors leading on to two separate decks, both of which have patio furniture upon which to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or evening glass of wine, while gazing on the rising sun or setting sunsets. The kitchen is equipped with a convection oven, microwave and toaster oven , countertop skillet for making pancakes, (however no stove) and plenty of dishes, silverware, serving utensils, a French press coffee maker, electric water heater and blender as well as glassware, napkins, salt, pepper, sugar, tea, coffee and bottled waters. Propane BBQ is ready for you use. The living room also has really comfy sofa and chair, reading lights and a Wall TV with cable channels. We think we've thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and we do hope we will meet all of your expectations.
We do have a parking area for your vehicle and an area right outside the cottage to store your bicycles if you are biking on our island. We also have an enclosed shop which is insulated and has electricity, located adjacent to the parking area. You are welcome to store the bikes there as well. The door is unlocked but our property is so private and secure, that no worries about the security of your bikes overnight.
